WTF is Normcore?!

0

Normcore is a thing now. It’s exactly what it sounds like, people taking on the normal ‘drab’ look of early 90s American culture and tuning it into high fashion. Think Elaine Benes (If you don’t know who that is then stop reading my blog, we have no future together).

By now you’ve probably guessed that normcore is just dressing like your mum or your dad (presuming they are middle classed and middle aged).

Personally I am only partly a fan, Lord knows I love me some comfort clothes, and oversized ANYTHING, but when I look back to the way I dressed when I was 13 (normcore level 1000) I can’t help but cringe. and it’s so very, very easy, with this look, to cross the line into daggy-ville. ALSO, it is very similar to Sports Luxe.  I’m confused internet; have they morphed into the same thing now…? Do I really have to give up ALL my heels in exchange for Nikes’ and Birkenstocks’? Dunno how that makes me feel.

  1. LOL! I feel the same way. I secretly love it…but can't really bring myself to fully love it and wear it all the time like the other trends. It definitely brings me back to the 90s. I love Elaine! She was my favorite of the Seinfeld crew ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I don't really like the normcore look. It seems contradictory to try and look easy/effortless without even really looking good.
