Stolen Girlfriends Club is always one of the BIGGEST shows of the year at Fashion Week. Like huge. This year there were over 1000 people. And it’s not really like a show, it’s a giant party. And Party they did.
Being SGC the clothes were sexy, rock’n’roll and the runway was a crazy, giant black cube was the focal point of the scene, set amongst the backdrop of the Grey Lynn warehouse. yup. Unique to say the least.
‘Safer Than Heaven’ was sticking to the 90s theme, with silver accessories, but sexed up. Lots of leather, flares and black.
Luckily for me, I managed to escape the extreme heat, and head backstage to get some snaps and find out what was in store for the audience. I caught up with Kiekie Stanners, M.A.C Senior Artist, and found out what look she was going for this year.
“I’m going for sexy, dewy skin that looks radiant. Detail on the eye, giving it a rock’n’roll look and a nude, glossy lip”.
Fun fact: Kiekie is one busy lady! Even though there is a crew of about a dozen, each member must get Kiekie’s sign off before they are done. This keeps the quality and consistency high.
