Chasing the Perfect Instagram Square

I’m no graphic designer.

let’s just put that straight out there. I’m absolutely awful at picking fonts, designing logos, and my attention to minute detail, well isn’t there.

But I am creative and I do love photoshop. Funnily enough, the editing process is my favorite part of taking photos, I love manipulating raw images, messing with the background changing my makeup shades.. and don’t get me started on the light! I’m allllll ’bout making light pop.

One thing about being a blogger’social media person is that you’re always being sent cool (and let’s face it sometimes not so cool – boy, do I have a few stories there) stuff to take photos of and make look cool/different. So I’m constantly trying to find new ways to play with my photography. Most images we see are manipulated in some way – a filter, a slimming of the waist – airbrushing of skin; instead of trying to hide that my philosophy is to embrace it. I’m playing with the square shape of Instagram presently, and trying to find new ways to achieve the ‘perfect Instagram size’ by making the background of images look somewhat of a M.C. Escher painting.

What do you think?

Notice I didn’t edit out my little tummy roll? lolllz
