It’s not every day that an indie, Kiwi designer wakes up to her clothes on the biggest model in the world right now. And that’s why we gotta love it!
If you read our article on Courtney Pellow from this year’s NZFW, you’ll know that we just fell in love with the collection “New Zealand For Sale” and apparently, so did Hadid.
Pellow’s ‘New Zealand For Sale’ collection takes aspects of Kiwi nostalgia and turns them into uniquely crafted fashion. The pants, worn by Hadid, are designed using a patchwork of upcycled woollen gumboot socks. Seeing a garment that is crafted from such a New Zealand staple, worn in a high fashion context is a huge nod to Kiwi talent and ingenuity.
Hadid styled Pellow’s hand-made, upcycled, gumboot sock pants with a Chanel handbag, Prada sneakers and a fitted black zip-neck fleece tucked into the pants, making them the focal point of the outfit.
On Day 2 of Milan Fashion Week, Gigi was spotted in another design by Courtney Pellow. These cropped jeans are printed in a custom white camouflage design based on native New Zealand bush.
Go Courtney, go!
