We’ve partnered with the uber cool Make Town (go Kiwi’s in London!) to bring you Meet Your Maker. A 5 day pop-up event taking place on November 20th – 24th at Make Town 2A Chatham Place, Hackney, London.
In the tradition of all things sustainable and slow fashion, we’ve gotten 10 of the best UK and international based (sustainable) designers plus the amazing mixologist Stuart Anderson a.k.a Tin On Tin together for 5 days of all things slow and eco fashion.
Wednesday – Our opening night, where guests can treated to an exclusive opening party with free drink with ticket, a panel of speakers who will discuss the importance of slow fashion and what we can do to improve the textile industry. Brooke, the director of Make Town will host an exclusive workshop. 7:15pm – Sustainability Panel with ethical fashion and Vogue Italy Photographer Kerry Curl, Sustainability power-house Raeburn, led by Ethics Matter. Thursday – Pop-Up is on from 10 and you can drink while you shop! Who doesn’t love a bit of that?! Decorate Your Denim 7-8:30pm – A fun and creative way to bring an old jacket back to life with cotton threads, jewels, beads tassels and pom poms. Tickets here.
Friday –In conjunction with Fabric for Freedom we are hosting special workshops, focussing on different ways we can use waste, dead or new materials to breathe a brand new life into our existing wardrobe and home. Fabric for Freedom partner with incredible, purpose-led charities which operate globally to create respect, value and to improve quality of living. These charities are passionate about eradicating poverty in working with and restoring those affected by human trafficking. Saturday – The shop will be open as usual and we will be hosting a macrame plant hanger workshop using recycled T Shirt Yarn. Tickets here.
Sunday – Last chance to pick up truly sustainable fashion and get your Christmas shopping started! Get on board with this simple workshop, where we will have lots of fabric offcuts and fabrics from us and local designers for you to make a scrunchie or two! Drop in between 11am – 2pm on Sunday 24th November with a pal and make matching ones! A quick and easy make just in time for the silly season of gift giving! Tickets here.
