Things We’re Lovin’ – Roimatawe Glacier Mud Face Mask

By Clare Jennings

It pays to read the fine print. I received the Roimatawe Glacier Mud with Propolis Facial Masque to review a few weeks back when I was going through a bit of a skin breakout. Because long-covid has rendered me somewhat cognitively slower than normal, I imagined this was going to be a honey filled dream masque, not appropriate for the whiteheads that were plaguing me. So I left it on the shelf, to be opened when my skin was ready for it. Big mistake. Huge. When I finally opened it, I discovered it was not, in fact, a gooey pile of honey, but a whipped, creamy, kaolin clay beauty. The ingredients list is small – Glacier mud from the South Island, Kaolin clay, propolis, silk amino acids and vitamin E. But those few ingredients have been magicked together in a way that is so wonderful I was left wondering how on earth more people aren’t talking about this. It’s soothing, and hydrating, while at the same time feeling like if I had any pimples this masque would have dealt them a big KO.  And the next morning I woke with skin looking significantly brighter than it had in a long time. To test my theory that it would help with pimples I bribed my teenager to let me apply it to his skin. Full transparency- the kid has beautiful skin. Beautiful. But he had a couple of pimples so he was my perfect test subject. He left it on for 10 mins and then got bored with me hovering around asking inane (to him) questions about how it felt, did it itch, did it dry down too much… so he washed it off and that was that. The next day, he found that the few spots he had were significantly smaller and less red. So that night he willingly used it again, and the following day the spots were totally gone! I was actually stunned. I knew it would be good for him, but that good that quickly? Incredible. So now he’s decided I can no longer have access to ‘his’ mask. Little does he know I’ll be placing an order ASAP, so we never have to run out.

This masque retails for $34.99 on their website, and I so highly enjoy this product I think most of my loved ones will be receiving a jar for their birthday. Yes, this was a gifted product. But my opinions are all my own. It’s a beauty.

You can buy The Roimatawe Glacier Mud Face Mask along with their equally awesome RemainBee Skin Relief Pen on their website roimatawe.com.
