Rory William Docherty is an up-and-coming NZ designer to definitely watch. The second show of New Zealand Fashion Week: Kahuria, was the designer's debut - and one of the most highly acclaimed. The collection had some incredible pieces, following with Fashion Month's theme of tailored blazers to ruffles, pleating, puffed sleeves and tiered dresses, while adding his own unique touch.

Did you know that Jacqueline wanted to add a bit of futurism to her theme of strong women - and refrenced the iconic 80s cult classic Blade Runner with the bursts of colour. The backdrop lighting and images also give off a computerised glitchy feel which is also seen throughout the film.

@esokolowskyj of @feimso penned this wonderfully thought provoking think piece after Fashion Week this year.
While the majority of the media and coverage has been glowinly positive - there is absolutely no doubt to the many industry that attended this year that there definitely was need for improvement. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Being open to constructive criticism is what leads to constant improvement. Harbouring an environmental where people are too afraid to speak out on everything is never a healthy way to run a business.
We are also starting to see an influx of platforms, influences and people in positions of power - that are covering up heavily biased opinions as unbiased reporting.
