So I thought on top of all the in person events, I might head to a digital event too! I decided to go to the Lupe Gajardo event. I wasn’t as excited about the online events, I enjoyed the buzz of rushing to the event, seeing everyone’s amazing outfits and chatting to the various designers and bloggers whilst there. However, if it means I can watch a show in my comfies while eating some treats then I am GAME!
Aside from this, it is actually quite stressful deciding what is appropriate to wear to each event. I am not a fashionista, so as you can imagine, I was running into my housemates’ rooms stealing all of their clothes for the shows. Removing that stress was very much welcomed.
I had my laptop open on the event and the countdown was on, 2 minutes...1 minute...and showtime! The event had begun and this fabulous filmography had appeared on my screen with the most vibrant colours. I am a sucker for colour so I was loving the collection but then it was over. It was so short. All the time and effort that went into the collection, even the online presentation was over in a flash. Surely, the collection deserved more airtime than a 2 minute video?
Maybe I am being dramatic but I was quite disappointed in the presentation. Why bother with a slot if it’s not going to be the full fifteen minutes allocated? Even if they had shown the same outfits repeatedly in a cool video I wouldn’t have minded. I would have loved it actually.
I just find it strange that after all the hours of work that so many put in, it would be presented in such a short video. The video was great and the collection was stunning, just not enough to fully appreciate the work unless you watch it five times.
