One of our favourite Auckland based Designers, Ruscoe Fashion, was a presenter at the annual Pechakucha Auckland creative event series.
PechaKucha (PK) Nights are informal and vibrant events where creative people get together and share their ideas, works, thoughts, missions - just about anything, really!
PK uses a simple presentation format:20 images, each for 20 seconds. The images advance automatically, and speakers talk along to the images. This keeps talks on time, on track, and audiences engaged.
PK began in Tokyo in 1998, and has grown to be one of the world’s largest grass-roots creative event series. Today, PK nights are hosted in over 1000 cities around the world.
Every day the world produces a torrent of content and creativity. It used to be that we could tell the human from the machine, but as technology takes hold of words, thoughts and images, we are plunged into a realm of New Illusions. Who's influencing whom? What is real? Eight talented creatives shared their work, stories, and responses to this new landscape, including Tammy Williams, Sophie Miya-Smith, Ruscoe Busterena-Kirby, Guy Trowbridge, Nasim Faghih, Donald Shepherd, Renee Jacobi and Bruce Ferguson.
