Gothic clothing has a reputation for being dark and sad. However, there is much more to this beautiful style of clothing that people often overlook. While the coloring is generally dark, what truly makes this clothing style special are the materials it is made from and their overall appearance. The materials play a large part in designing some of the most gorgeous Gothic clothes. Moreover, these materials combined with various designs can create really romantic clothing. This alluring romantic vibe that Gothic clothing can have makes it exceptionally attractive! But what are some of the components that make romantic Gothic clothing?
Exaggerated Textured Materials: The Key Behind Romantic Gothic Clothing
The foundation of most Gothic clothing consists of lace, tulle, tassel, and other light textures. These specific textures are known to be sexy due to their pretty detail, especially lace. Lace has a long history in the clothing industry and has been a beloved part of clothing pieces throughout the years. This is particularly true for Gothic clothing which often is layered with lace to make a dramatic and exaggerated look. By designing the clothing in this manner, the
Gothic style is defined as romantic because it is really defined in its bold features.
To further explore this, it is important to realize that the placing of the textured materials will also be a defining feature. For example, the lace can be incorporated on the cuffs of the shoulder, outlining the torso area, or run vertically on a dress running along the legs. This truly amps up how romantic these clothes can appear! Even though the primary coloring is black, the lacing creates a more definitive design that stands out.
This is also true for tulles which is a really romantic way to spice up an outfit. Tulles come in a variety of styles but their most identifiable feature is their sheerness. They are often transparent, thin pieces of sheer material or lacing. Tulles are most known for being under a petticoat to help give a flowing and puffed-up illusion. However, they take a different form when being applied to romantic Gothic clothing. When used for romantic Gothic attire, tulles are used in the sleeves or draped over the shoulders like a cape. This is a really sexy choice as it gives the shoulders and arms a sheer and luxurious look that is exceptionally eye-catching!
These materials are masterful ways to accent Gothic clothing increasing their beauty! Between the mixture of textures and the way in which they are placed makes them eye-catching and romantic looking. The more aligned the textured materials are with the flow of the piece of clothing will increase its romantic image. This approach to creating gorgeous romantic Gothic clothing is ultimately endless in the possibilities!
Contrasting Coloring: A Beautiful Look to Victorian Gothic Clothing
Victorian-style clothing is often classified as "Gothic"; as the time period of which it derives is highly regarded by the Gothic community. This style of clothing fits perfectly in the exaggerated features that define classic Gothic styles. Moreover, Victorian-style clothing is simply idyllic and most certainly romantic in nature.
A great way to achieve
classic romantic Victorian Gothic clothing is through contrasting coloring. Black is always a dark and bold choice for any Gothic look, however, other colors can be incorporated to heighten the beauty. Most commonly. black and white are mixed as the white is a stark and dramatic look against pitch-black clothing. This can transpire in the form of small details like white lace among black pieces or even white purse clutches to offset an all-black outfit. The accessories can be a large part of collocation as well.
#Another example of this is through the use of grey. Grey is really just a lightened version of black so it really compliments a dark black outfit. For example, some
Gothic dresses can be layered with black and then greylacing to stand out from one another while still working together. This look is beautiful and romantic especially with dropped shoulder sleeves and the addition of hand and wrist lace sleeves. The completed look comes off quite stunning and sets romance in the air!
Contrasting colors give Victorian clothing an extra edge. It takes them from being simply gorgeous to significantly romantic! When it is this eye- catching and able to turn some heads, it proves that such romantic aspects can be a part of Gothic clothing. Not only will this give the wearer confidence, but it will also make them feel super sexy for their significant others or partners. The Victorian-style is simply an iconic defining feature of Gothic clothing and the placement of these contrasting colors creates a romantic look.
Sexy and Romantic Gothic Clothing: A Beautiful Way to Entice Someone!
There are endless examples of sexy and romantic Gothic clothing, however, some are more enticing than others! Some of my favorites include a
Romantic Bride Cross Pendant Veil and a
Black Bowknot Trumpet Sleeve Crucifix Print Dress. Combined or worn separately, these two iconic romantic pieces are really gorgeous. The veil is a classic romantic Gothic look and features a cross pendant that hangs from the
middle to add an accent upon the forehead. The veil itself is sheer black tulle looking with ruffled black roses staggered within the veil and grouped along the top in a pretty crown. This veil is a great choice for a new bride or even as something to spice up the bedroom!
The dress is possibly my absolute favorite piece. It has trumpet sleeves that really accent the dress design and just short enough to be a bit teasing! The black bowknot gives it a bit of Victorian flair and it really works with the printed crucifixes. The crucifixes are an iconic Gothic symbol and help this sexy dress become so gorgeous. This look makes any lover of Gothic clothing feel super sexy and romantic for their significant other! Nothing says romance like this design. It can be combined with the veil to really set the romantic look over the top as well!
