You've probably seen all the recent hype around serums. The last few years, they have entered the beauty mainstream market and seem to be here to stay. So what exactly are they and how do they work?
Serums have a smaller molecular structure than creams and lotions, and thus tend to be more concentrated and potent. This means their smaller molecular structure allows serums to penetrate deeper into the skin, delivering a high concentration of active ingredients.
Boost Lab have come out with a fantastic range of quality serums for a wide range of skin types.
The problem I have always found with serums is that because I'm no expert in ingredients, I get overwhelmed with choice. The thing I love about the Boost Lab site is that you can click on your specific concern (dark spots, hydration etc.) and are presented with suggestions. This also goes for the bottles themselves - there are clear directions. What order to use, how much and when.
A rule of thumb - always apply water-based serums, follow by oil-based serums, as the latter are intended to seal everything in.
After several weeks of use - my favourites are the Retinol Night Renewal Serum, The Vitamin C Brightening Serum and the Vitamin B3 Blemish Rescue Serum.
