A city block in Wellington has gotten a lot more magic. If you haven’t seen it yet, in the heart of Wellington’s creative quarter, three of Aotearoa’s most vivid visual storytellers have turned a stretch of Ghuznee and Leeds Streets into a love letter to Matariki. Jewellery giant Pandora is right there with them, translating that same story into charms you can wear. This is Dreamgirls Art Collective’s biggest canvas yet, and it’s not just paint; it’s a wahine wrapped in stars, stitched into the skyline of the capital, followed with a nine-piece charm collection into stores nationwide.

The artwork depicts a modern wahine from Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington, surrounded by symbols inspired by each of the nine stars and their unique meanings. Together, the mural reflects the enduring role of storytelling in connecting people to culture, community and one another.

The partnership marks Pandora’s first New Zealand artist partnership of its kind and will come to life through the public mural, in-store experiences and the exclusive charm collection available nationwide at select stores and online for a limited time.
Inspired by the stars of remembrance, abundance, dreams and new beginnings, the collection invites Kiwi’s to connect with the stories behind the artwork and celebrate the values that Matariki
represents.

The charms are available until the end of August, and the Dreamgirls mural will be up indefinitely after launching during Matariki.
