- Thanks for keeping in touch with us during lockdown. How are you feeling?
I'm feeling great! As the build up to fashion week was pretty stressful and it was like switching the light off when lockdown happened for us. I was actually at Spotlight buying black dye when the announcement of lockdown happened, went to the car and had a fat cry of both sadness and relief. If lockdown didn't happen I would have burnt my self out.
2. What is lockdown like for your household?
My partner is an essential worker working for Kahungunu whānau Services, a Kaupapa Māori organisation that provides a wrap around service for those whom are in need in central Wellington, his recent project has been setting up vaccination stations, a great kaupapa and to support on the side and keeping occupied with my Mahi at Victoria University of Wellington as a Lecturer at Design for social innovation, moving students online has been easy as they seem more resilient. In the beginning of lockdown, the brand and collection had a pause, I've done bits and pieces here and there but it has come along well I must say.
3 - What have you been up to?
Teaching students online, sewing bits and pieces and supporting my partner in his mahi
4. Are you working from home? Why/ why not?
Yep
5 - What have you been doing for yourself during lockdown to relax and for self-care?
Morning jog and walks, mostly like everyone else I guess. Cooking has encouraged less junk food!
6 - Do you have anything you would like to achieve during lockdown?
It's hard at times to gain motivation and see things through so I think when this ends things can seem back to normal
7 - Have you got any recommendations for reading/ watching / listening to?
The 'Chair' on Netflix if you're an academic this would definitely be a funny one! Repeats of Cruella and rewatching Downton Abbey.
