As I am sure you can imagine, behind the scenes at any Fashion Show is a hectic place. This is times by 10 fold at NZFW because it’s not one show – it’s a day full of shows with very small breaks in-between. Models are running from show to show, make up artists are lugging their makeup kits (this isn’t the same as the one you have on your dressing table, this is the size of a carry on suitcase) and whole coordinators are yelling into walkie-talkies. It’s chaos! But organized chaos.
I headed back stage for several shows and got to hear about and see the inspiration, dedication and work that go into each look. I got to speak to Vyctorya Vo owner and head technician at The Art Of Nails,
about the nail details each show required:
“(What look we go for) depends on the show. With Andrea Moore – a deep pinky red and deep shimmery blue. Hailwood – earthy, wintery colours. The Wool show and Jockey show were all about keeping the nails natural looking”.
