Lookbook Alert : Bronwyn – AW23

Bronwyn’s commitment to New Zealand designed, ethically-made footwear, continues with a sharp curation of Winter Boots and Flats for the upcoming season, championing the discerning wearer through the creation of minimalist pieces with refined, elevated detailing.

Bronwyn’s Creative Director Sarah Street continues to amplify her voice in the local market with
a captivating exploration into proportion and balance, showcasing a sleek edit of wardrobe
staples and key cult items, focusing on boots and a first foray into flat shoes for the brand. A sharp
edit of sell-out flatforms in their latest summer offering led to what felt like a natural, almost
necessary progression to flats for Sarah Street. “I believe we are seeing a focused shift into
footwear that offers elevation but also has the practical qualities of comfort that flat shoes allow,
that perfect blend of comfort and aesthetics”, says Street. What emerges is a contemporary
offering of elevated pieces with signature detailing peppered throughout.

Collection Four showcases key elements of the upcoming Autumn Winter season; sharp square toes, elongated leg shafts and figure-hugging silhouettes alongside subtle western nods and elevated outsoles. Paired with Bronwyn’s increasingly renowned aesthetic of simplicity refined, the collection comprises of items that are both immediately desirable and equally wearable.

Unique heel designs and subtle details such as triple-row stitching and double rands elevate each piece, with a central focus on comfort key for even the highest heels.

Rosewater, Latte and Chocolate hues are featured throughout the collection and offer a contemporary, uniquely feminine sense of minimalism, a gentle and warm palette for the cooler
months inspired by Cy Twombly’s Ferragosto series, and grounded by blacks in both smooth and tumbled textures. Stretch leather is another hallmark of the collection, developed for a sleek, more hugging fit on a multitude of legs.

“What I have learnt from creating pieces for this brand is that I’m able to push the boundaries of footwear design and I’m more adaptable than I ever have been as a designer. I think the reason
for that is twofold. It is in large part thanks to the close relationship I have with my customers and my stockists, they are so important to me and I’m so very grateful for them, and equally I’m inspired by these incredible women that I have the honour of creating shoes for.

The other reason is because I have a constant grounding focus for the brand, and that is my Mother, Bronwyn. When you lose someone who means everything to you it is life-altering. Having
a gentle, daily reminder of the love I have for her and she had for me, is a constant driving force for me to keep growing and evolving this brand and I absolutely love that”.

Collection Four is a distilled edit of elevated must-have pieces, each a covetable wardrobe addition for the discerning wearer.

Bronwyn’s latest collection debuts at 6pm on Thursday 16th February at brownynfootwear.com and is available in Bronwyn’s stockists across New Zealand from 17th February.
