Our Fave Looks from the 2024 Met Gala –

This years Met Gala has a “The Garden of Time” theme. It also ties into their current spring exhibition, titled “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion. This was a great choice, here are our picks of some of the most beautiful and creative outfits from the red – no wait, this year it’s green – carpet.

Zendaya

As one of this years co-chairs of the Met Gala, Zendaya wears an incredible Maison Margiela piece. This is her second outfit of the event, she also wore an archived, never-been-worn, John Galliano for Givenchy black dress.

Jennifer Lopez

As another co-chair of this years event, Jennifer Lopez stuns the crowd in a ‘naked dress’ by one of our fave designers here at Sans Pareil, Schiaparelli (designed by Daniel Roseberry).

Gwendoline Christie

Gwendoline Christie brings some doll-like whimsy, in Maison Margela (OK, we’ve seen this kind of look before, but we love it!).

Pamela Anderson

People forget/underestimate how naturally beautiful Pamela Anderson is, and we are absolutely here for her latest ‘natural’ era (she has worn no makeup to several high profile fashion events recently).

Opting for soft pinky makeup, paired with an Oscar de La Renta gown, Pam shows her natural beauty at it’s best.

Tyla

A dress made of sand?! Wow! Tyla makes her Met Gala debut in a very original Balmain gown, symbolising the sands of time, that took 4 male models to assist her to carry the train.

Josh O’Connor

While many of the men played it safe, Josh O’Connor was out there in Loewe, with this fun and creative suit and shoes – definitely something different! The floral shoes suit the theme really well.

Anna Wintour

As the Head of the Met Gala, Anna keeps it simple in an embroidered coat by Loewe, over a white dress, also by Loewe.

Bad Bunny

The ever-stylish Bad Bunny is another of this years Met Gala co-chairs, wearing custom Maison Margela

Gigi Hadid

Gigi looks so on-theme, in a dress by Thom Browne that took more than 13,000 hours to complete!

Greta Lee

In her first (and we’re sure, not last!) appearance at the Met Gala, Greta Lee wows us in this dress by Loewe (who were very popular this gala).

Dove Cameron and Damiano David

Making a gorgeous couple, Dove and Damiano both wear Diesel.

Adrien Brody and Georgina Chapman

Such a stylish couple! Adrien wears Maison Margiela, and freshly blonde hair, which we’re quite digging. Not entirely sure who designed Georgina’s gorgeous dress, but she is a fashion designer herself, for Marchesa.

Jeff Goldblum

A bit steampunk-ish, a bit quirky, 100% cool outfit. You always gotta love Jeff Goldblum! In a funky Prada coat covered by Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany brooches, he makes his Met Gala debut.

Uma Thurman

Uma Thurman worked with Tory Burch to create her gown, inspired by an extinct butterfly.

Alia Bhatt

Wearing an intricately-detailed gown by Indian couturier Sabyasachi, Alia fits the theme, and pays tribute to her heritage perfectly. The dress took nearly 2000 hours to create, and took a team of 163 to handcraft in India.

Wisdom Kaye

Wisdom wears custom Robert Wun (we love Robert Wun!), it’s a typical Robert Wun design, which of course is a compliment.

Ayo Edebiri

Ayo wears a very detailed dress by Loewe, featuring individual, 3D flowers, in her Met Gala debut.

Samantha Barry

Samantha Barry is MAGIC in this tulle dress by The Atelier!

Camila Cabello

Looking cool as ice, Camila carries a literal block of ice as a clutch purse. By the end of the evening , it slowly melted, leaving a single rose behind. Her dress was designed by Ludovic de Saint Sernin, and the clutch was designed by Jane Wade.

We sadly missed Rihanna (she was away sick this year), she always has an amazing outfit!

Who were your faves this year? Any misses?
