As an avid lover of NZ beauty products, I was delighted to recently receive a package of face masks from Nelson Honey to test out and review. These are the Original Face Mask and Premium Face Mask, I will be trying both out and sharing my thoughts with you.
First of all, I am looking at the Original Face Mask, which I think would be ideal for skin that tends to get very dry during winter months. This is very hydrating and nourishing, with a lush, thick texture. It can also be applied as an overnight face cream, rather than a mask to be rinsed off. I was genuinely impressed at how thick and moisturising the mask is, while it also is comfortable to wear, it didn't make my face feel dry and tight like some masks do.
The mask has a faint, pleasant smell of lavender, but it's not over powering. It comes neatly packaged in a small box, the jar is solid and attractive and has a small plastic spatula to assist with applying the product. You can apply a thick layer to your face and rinse off after 20 minutes, or leave on overnight.
The Original Face Mask contains Bee Venom, Manuka Honey, Manuka Oil, and lots of other beneficial ingredients.
A cool feature with Nelson Honey products is the unique Batch Tracking system, providing more info about your purchased product.
The Premium Mask is a lighter texture than the original, and has the most beautiful, subtle shimmer effect as well (which I haven't been able to capture in my photos but gives
such a pretty glow). This mask is so comfortable to wear, it doesn't dry and make your skin feel tight like so many others. Plus the smell isn't over whelming like you might expect from something with such fragrant ingredients . Once rinsed off, your skin feels lovely and soft.
I was impressed at how extensive the Nelson Honey range is, featuring everything from, of course, honey, to skincare, the famous Nectar Ease, Manuka Oil and mouthwash, and much more, and I definitely hope to try more Nelson honey products in future.
(These Masks are not suitable for anyone with a Bee Venom allergy, please read all the information carefully to ensure they are suitable for you).
